SQA apology after thousands of blank results emails issued

The exam authority blamed a technical glitch which it resolved quickly.

Scotland’s exams authority has apologised after thousands of students were sent an email with a blank space instead of their results.

The SQA said the matter was resolved quickly after a technical glitch and the vast majority of people received their results as expected.

Pass rates have fallen compared with last year. And the figures also show the gap between those in the least and most affluent areas has widened.
