SPS head denies ministers pressured move of Isla Bryson

The prison's boss appeared before a committee of MSPs, alongside the Justice Secretary

The head of the Scottish Prison Service has denied the Scottish Government pressured them into moving a transgender rapist to a male prison.

Isla Bryson was convicted last month and was taken to Cornton Vale – an all female facility.

However following a furious response, Bryson was moved to a male prison within days.
