Spinal injury unit launches own games in spirit of the Paralympics

Today's event was run by the unit's staff and a team of volunteers.

With the Paralympics underway in Paris, the excitement is being felt here in Scotland too.

The country’s national spinal injuries unit, based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, has held its own games with patients getting to try their hand at all kinds of new sports.

From boccia and foam javelin to curling and weights, there was plenty on the go, and plenty of competitive spirit too with bronze, silver and gold medals up for grabs.
