South Uist residents vote against mass red deer cull

There were claims the animals were spreading Lyme Disease and causing havoc on crofts

Residents on the island of South Uist have voted against a mass cull of 1,200 red deer.

Storas Uibhist, which manages the community-owned South Uist Estate however promised to work with NatureScot to manage numbers.
