‘Some services may have to change’ following Supreme Court ruling

The ruling means both the UK and Scottish Governments will have to define who can use services such as toilets and changing rooms.

The Scottish Government’s equalities secretary has admitted that a Supreme Court ruling, defining a woman, means “some services could have to be delivered in a different way”.

Meanwhile, a UK Government minister has said that “services should be accessed on the basis of biological sex”.

In the wake of last week’s ruling, both Governments will have to define who can use what services including toilets, changing rooms and health care.
