‘Shop from the future’ offers a new type of retail experience

The concept outlet features recycled fittings aimed at reducing materials going to landfill.

A new charity shop dubbed a “Store of the Future” has opened at Straiton Retail Park in Midlothian.

The British Heart Foundation shop is said to be the first of its kind in the UK. It’s made from recycled waste, including walls made from old CDs and bubble-wrap lampshades.

Organisers say the outlet aims to cut down on the amount of materials which would normally go to landfill.
