A sheriff has ruled that an ex Edinburgh Academy teacher did assault a number of pupils in his care, over decades in the job.
John Brownlee, who has been branded a “sadist” and a “psychopath” by former pupils, was ruled unfit to stand trial and an examination of facts has taken place instead.
