Sharenting: The dangers of posting your child online

Research shows that oversharing about our children online can lead to long-term harm and significantly increase the risk of fraud.

Documenting a child’s special moments on social media – whether it’s their first steps or first day at school – has become commonplace in society.

But Scottish academics warn it significantly increases children’s risk of harassment, cyber-bullying and identity theft.

They say parents and carers are largely unaware of the dangers of so called “Sharenting,” and are urging us to think before we post.
