Serial killer nurse’s appeal case begins 17 years after conviction

Colin Norris was convicted of murdering four women and attempting to murder another by injecting them with insulin.

Three appeal judges in London are to decide whether a former Glasgow nurse is a serial killer or the victim of a major miscarriage of justice.

Colin Norris, who is now known as Colin Campbell, was convicted almost two decades ago of murdering four elderly patients by injecting them with insulin.

On the first day of his appeal, the Scot’s lawyer argued that the evidence was flawed and claimed medical advances now prove the conviction is unsafe.
