It could be the biggest revolution in food production we’ve ever seen – and Scottish scientists are at the heart of it.

A company based at the Roslin Institute in Midlothian – where Dolly the Sheep was cloned nearly thirty years ago – is developing techniques to cultivate real meat in the lab without any animals having to be killed.

Supporters say it could help feed the world and benefit the environment.
