Scottish Prison Service admits unlawful death of Allan Marshall

Allan Marshall was restrained by 17 prison officers during a mental health crisis in 2015.

Allan Marshall died in 2015 after being restrained by 17 officers in an Edinburgh prison.

On Friday, the Scottish prison service admitted his death was unlawful.

In an unprecedented court hearing, the Marshall family was also given public apologies from all three state bodies involved, who accepted failings in the case.
