Scottish Government to go ahead with snare ban legislation

The ban would be brought forward as part of the Wildlife Management and Muirburn Bill

The Scottish Government is to press ahead with a ban on humane cable restraints, commonly known as snares.

It’s a move described by Scottish Land and Estates as a ‘dark day for biodiversity, wildlife and rural livelihoods’.

Animal rights organisations have praised the decision.
