Scottish Government pledge wages boost for childcare workers

First Minister Humza Yousaf said the £16m investment showed the Scottish Government ‘prioritising’ the sector.

The Scottish Government is investing £16m to ensure staff are paid a minimum of least £12 an hour in an effort to address those issues.

The First Minister says the cash will also help improve gender equality. However charities claim while the additional money is welcome, it will not solve the many issues facing childcare.
