Scots sub-postmasters not covered in UK exoneration legislation

The Scottish Government’s calls to ensure the law applies to all areas of the UK have been ignored

It’s been described as a “huge step forward” for hundreds of sub-postmasters.

But Post Office workers in Scotland fear they’re being left behind and forgotten about as new legislation to exonerate those wrongfully convicted is introduced for England and Wales.

Rab Thomson from Clackmanninshire was made a social recluse and tried to take his own life due to the emotional strain the Horizon IT scandal caused him.

He was only cleared of theft 20 years on, and says in the 9 weeks since, he’s not had a penny of compensation.
