Scots kids being ‘failed’ say Children’s commissioner

In Scotland, one in four children lives in poverty

Children across Scotland are being failed by a lack of action on mental heath, poverty and human rights by governments at both Holyrood and Westminster.

That’s according to the country’s Children’s commissioner, who says young people are having their start to life severely hampered by a lack of quality affordable housing and the cost of living crisis.

Struggling families do have support from local charities and projects, but the Scottish Government is being urged to used its devolved powers to do more.
