ScotRail to scrap all day off-peak fares at end of month

Rail unions say they're 'angry and disappointed' at the decision.

It was an experiment aimed at boosting passenger numbers on Scotland’s railway – but it hasn’t attracted as many as hoped.

Now peak time fares are to return at the end of next month.

For most of the last year, tickets on ScotRail had cost the same price all day but the Scottish Government said that it had mainly benefitted existing rail users.
