Scotland’s first underwater sniffer dog receives posthumous award

Barra died after a short illness in May this year.

Scotland’s first underwater sniffer dog, who spent 11 years helping to find bodies in the River Clyde and across Britain, has received an award following his death for his outstanding assistance in police searches.

The handler and owner of springer spaniel Barra says he has left behind a lasting legacy, and now the people of Glasgow are calling for a statue to remember him.
