Scotland falls silent to mark Armistice Day and honour the fallen

The agreement to end the fighting of the First World War was signed in 1918.

People around Scotland fell silent this morning, on Armistice Day, to honour those who have died in conflicts around the world.

The day is commemorated every year to mark the signing of the armistice between the allies and Germany in 1918.

Veterans and members of the public gathered at events around the country to remember those who sacrificed their lives.
