The UK's Energy Minister has ruled out a windfall tax on energy companies.

Scotland is facing some of the worst problems of food and energy poverty according to a report from the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. It is recommending emergency support from the UK Government.

But giving evidence to MSPs, the UK’s Energy Minister said fuel poverty is devolved to the Scottish Parliament and ruled out a windfall tax on energy companies to support those struggling to pay their bills.
