Scotland Covid public inquiry has new chair appointed

The hope is the first hearings will now take place next year

Families of Scots who died from Covid-19 say they have renewed confidence they will be listened to, after meeting the new chair of the public inquiry into how the pandemic was handled.

The High Court judge Lord Brailsford was appointed to the role after the resignation of Lady Poole.
