Scotland could see beef shortages, warns new report

80,000 cows will be needed by 2030 to meet demand.

Beef shortages could be seen in Scotland if cattle numbers don’t increase quickly.

That’s according to a new report from Quality Meat Scotland, who say another 80,000 cows will be needed by 2030 to meet demand.

Farmers say increased costs and an ageing workforce are behind the reduction.
