A team of scientists from Edinburgh are pioneering a way to turn fatbergs from sewers into a sweet-smelling perfume.
Their research comes as a report from the House of Lords science committee warns that the UK has already lost its position as a world-leader in engineering biology – and is in “severe” danger of slipping further behind.
