Salvation Army planning to close two care homes

Davidson House and Eagle Lodge in Edinburgh are set to shut under proposals from the charity.

Families with loved ones in an Edinburgh care home facing closure have told STV News their relatives would likely die if they’re forced to move.

The Salvation Army is planning to close two of its properties, meaning around 60 elderly residents, some over 100 years old, will have to find a new home.

The charity said the “evolving complex nature” of elderly care had made delivering residential care difficult.
