Russia accused of conducting North Sea surveillance

One of the vessels named in the report was spotted in the Moray Firth last year

Russia is being accused of gathering information on wind farms and communication cables in the North Sea with possible plans to sabotage them in the future.

The allegations have been made after an investigation by a group of Scandinavian broadcasters.

They’ve accused Russian vessels of disguising themselves as research ships while mapping offshore wind farms and power cables.
