Rural communities could face higher energy bills warns report

On average, they'll see an increase of £217

There’s a warning people in rural areas could be hit with higher energy bills than those in Scotland’s Central Belt.

That’s according to a report which revealed the three areas which are set to see the highest increases this winter are all in the north.

Meanwhile there are concerns people’s human rights could be being infringed in remote areas – as people struggle with fuel poverty and access to public services.
