Critical repair work on the RRS Discovery has taken another step forward with the removal of the ships rudder. It’s part of a multi-million pound preservation project to save the historic ship for future generations.
Engineers say the project to remove the large wooden rudder is a key part in the helping ensure the structural integrity of the vessell.
