As Scotland’s biggest agricultural event – the Royal Highland Show – begins in Edinburgh, a row has erupted between the Scottish and UK governments over funding for the farming sector.
Farmers have been calling for a multi-year financial settlement to help bring long-term certainty to the industry.
But tonight ministers in both governments are blaming the other for a failure to reach a deal.
