Review launched into law around discovery of treasure

The review of the system will look at how finds are processed

There’s been a huge increase in the number of people in Scotland who go metal detecting and now a review has been launched into the way their finds are managed.

The law says everything discovered has to be reported in case the items or their location are significant – but that means a massive volume of work and a big backlog.
