Retail staff say they’re operating in a “climate of fear” as nearly 4,000 shop workers were attacked last year.
That’s the damming findings from an industry report which shows retail crime is soaring and costing Scottish stores £170m a year.
Retailers have told STV News increasingly brazen and violent thieves carry out these crimes with almost no consequences.
