Residents say living next to new prison ‘hell’ due to noise

The Scottish Prison Service says it's looking at ways to resolve the problem

Residents living next to a new multi-million pound prison say their life has been made a ‘living hell’ by noise coming from the jail.

HMP Stirling which houses women offenders opened in May on a site next to the former Cornton Vale Prison.

Residents say loud abusive shouting can often be heard from the facility – causing a feeling of unease, with some considering moving.
