Researchers discover origin of the Stone of Destiny

Staff are now preparing to move the Stone to Westminster for King Charles' coronation

Researchers from Historic Environment Scotland say they can confirm the origin of the Stone of Destiny.

Believed to have been used in the coronation of Scottish monarchs as much as fifteen hundred years ago, it was seized by English King Edward in 1296.

Scientists say the stone – now back in Scotland and on display at Edinburgh Castle – is the original.

But, the Arlington Pub in Glasgow also claims to have the real thing!
