Red squirrels are thriving in the North East once again

From the verge of extinction, red squirrels in Aberdeen are mounting an incredible comeback.

Scotland is home to more than three-quarters of the UK’s red squirrel population, but they’ve long been threatened by non-native grey squirrels.

But now, thanks to a 16-year restoration programme, reds are thriving in the North East once again.
