Rapist who transitioned during trial placed in women’s prison

The Scottish Prison Service insists a full risk assessment is being carried out

There’s mounting debate about how the Scottish justice system deals with criminals who self-identify as women.

This rapist carried out two attacks while known as Adam Graham – but made the decision to transition while awaiting trial– and is now known as Isla Bryson.

Bryson is now in Cornton Vale women’s prison and its former governor has told STV News “everyone should be shocked”.
