Nine years ago tomorrow Sheku Bayoh died after being restrained by police officers in Kirkcaldy.
Today, at the public inquiry into his death, the man who was Scotland’s most senior law officer at the time said it was “obvious” from the start that issues around race could be a factor.
In his evidence, former Lord Advocate Frank Mulholland also said he’d told his successor it was important to maintain personal contact with Mr Bayoh’s family.
