Pubs welcome new Glasgow opening hours pilot with caution

Businesses will have until January the 31st to apply, with the trial due to start in the middle of next year

Businesses have welcomed an announcement that Glasgow city centre bars will be able to stay open for an extra hour, but say it is not enough to boost the late-night economy.

Pubs currently have to close at midnight, but will be able to apply to stay open until 1am under a one-year pilot scheme.
