The Scottish Government has ordered a public inquiry into the operation of grooming gangs in Scotland.
Professor Alexis Jay who wrote the damning report that revealed mass abuse in Rotherham will lead the investigation.
It comes after the First Minister faced pressure to launch an inquiry from survivors and opposition parties.
A mother of an alleged victim of a grooming gang says she burst into tears when she listened to today’s announcement.
