Proposed new power interconnector cable for Western Isles

OFGEM have approved a 1.8 Giga watt link which will allow the export of renewable power

Western Isles Council say a new interconnector cable to the mainland, will be “transformational”.

Community leaders say the decision has taken 20 years, which will also help the country meet net zero targets by 2030.
