Prison service head commits to change after death of young people

Katie Allan and William Lindsay died within months of each other while in custody at Polmont in 2018.

The head of the Scottish Prison Service says it’s committed to rapid and systemic change following the deaths of two young people in its care.

The SPS repeated its apology to the families of Katie Allan and William Lindsay in its official response to the findings of a fatal accident inquiry.

Relatives say apologies are too little, too late and they fear time is still being wasted.
