A murder trial has heard that a pregnant woman who died on Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh had been in a “controlling, abusive and increasingly volatile relationship”.
Prosecutors claim that Kashif Anwar’s treatment of his wife Fawziyah Javed included an “expression of a desire for her to die in childbirth”.
Jurors at the High Court in Edinburgh were told that this showed Anwar’s state of mind on the night of his wife’s death.
The Crown urged them to find Anwar guilty of murdering Ms Javed, and causing the death of their unborn child.
