From Johnstone to May, Indyref to Trump, no topic is too scared on the stage

Politics always plays a huge role at Edinburgh’s Fringe festival, and this year is no exception with an abundance of shows poking fun at politicians and oozing satire.

In terms of political goings on – comedians and playwrights are totally spoilt for content at the moment – we’ve been through a pandemic, there’s the downing street party scandals, there could be another independence referendum on the horizon, and of course there’s the conservative leadership contest.
