Police Scotland are ‘well equipped’ for Donald Trump’s visit

The US President is expected to make a visit to Scotland this month.

Police say a visit by US President Donald Trump to Scotland would bring a significant cost as well as some disruption.

The force is currently planning for a major operation should the trip go ahead at the end of July, although nothing has been confirmed.

Scotland’s Deputy Chief Constable says officers will seek support from the Scottish and UK Governments to cover the financial impact.
