The family of Sheku Bayoh say they feel vindicated after hearing officers were instructed not to tell them about any police involvement in his death until it was “properly investigated.”
The 31 year old died after being restrained on the ground by six police officers in Kirkcaldy in May 2015.
The inquiry being held in Edinburgh is examining the circumstances of Mr Bayoh’s death and whether race was a factor.
