PM defends mini-budget despite widespread criticism

New research suggests Scottish households are struggling more than other parts of the UK

The Prime Minister has spoken to the media for the first time since last week’s mini-budget — defending her government’s financial plans.

They’ve caused the pound to fall in value to a record low against the dollar, pushed markets into turmoil and been described by the International Monetary Fund as “likely to increase inequality”.

Many businesses – and people – are concerned — and anxious of what’s to come.
