Plaque unveiled to celebrate wind turbine inventor

James Blyth was celebrated at the house where he grew up in Aberdeenshire.

Known as the father of wind power, the achievements of James Blyth have been celebrated in his hometown of Marykirk.

A plaque was unveiled at his former home to mark his achievements of developing the world’s first turbine, which has helped to grow Scotland’s globally pioneering wind industry.
