A plaque has been unveiled in Broughty Ferry to remember the service of a policeman who died while clearing a mine from the beach.

PC Robert Stirrat was the only Dundee police officer to die while on home duty during the Second World War. Following a successful campaign for a memorial, PC Robert Stirrat’s contributions to keeping his community safe are being remembered.
