Plans to create the UK’s biggest hydrogen production plant in Aberdeenshire have been approved in principle, despite community opposition.
The site, which will be one of the largest of its kind in Europe, is set to create thousands of construction jobs to build the facility.
Statera Energy, the company behind Kintore Hydrogen, says the project could play an essential role in decarbonising the UK’s carbon-intensive sectors.
But those opposed have expressed fears of hazards and risks posed by the plant.
