Plan launched to help stem rural depopulation

The Scottish Government says the money will help communities as part of longer term support

A major action plan is being launched to try to save Scotland’s rural communities in the face of depopulation over the next decade.

Fewer people are predicted to be living here by 2033 but critics say the Scottish Government’s aims don’t go far enough.
