People living next to quarry say blasts are ‘unbearable’

They say the controlled explosions cause their homes to shake and have left them feeling distressed.

People living next to a quarry in Newbridge say the noise from blasts from the site is “unbearable.”

The quarry owners’ application to remove limits on the strength of the blasts has been rejected by the council, but it is understood that they plan to appeal the decision.

Campaign group Stop the Quarry said the blasts are “shaking houses and causing distress”.
