Parents warn lives will be at risk if neonatal unit downgraded

A report outlining the strategy says only 50 to 60 babies a year will be affected by the changes

Parents whose premature babies were treated in the neo-natal intensive care unit at Wishaw General Hospital say lives will be put at risk if plans to downgrade the facility go ahead.

The proposal is to have three centralised units – in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, to provide critical care for babies from across Scotland.
