They have one collective wish – to get their sons released from hospital. The mothers of men with autism and severe learning disabilities, say they’ve been to hell and back, fighting for years to free their adult children from secure psychiatric units including the state hospital.
The Scottish government has pledged change, but parents believe their sons are trapped in unsuitable environments because of a lack of resources and urgency.
